Just twelve kilometers from Vista Felice lies:
Castro
– an exceptionally intimate and charming town on the shores of Lake Iseo.
The quickest drive takes less than fifteen minutes, but we encourage you to choose alternative routes that transform an ordinary trip into an unforgettable scenic journey.
The first option covers 18 kilometers and leads through Solto Collina—a picturesque village situated on a panoramic plateau between Lake Iseo and the Val Cavallina valley. Winding mountain roads offer plenty of fun for drivers while rewarding passengers with stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges and the shimmering lake waters.
The second route, spanning 55 kilometers, is a journey of over an hour designed for those who prefer challenging mountain stretches over straightforward highways.
It begins atop the mountain ranges visible from our windows before descending to lake level near the town of Sarnico. The second leg of the drive is a feast for the eyes, taking you right along the shoreline at the foot of sheer mountain slopes.
Its uniqueness is highlighted by the fact that scenes for the film *Positano*—starring Matthew McConaughey and Zoe Saldaña and set for release in 2027—were filmed right here!
We’ve written quite a bit about the drive itself, but what about Castro?
While the town captivates visitors with its magnificent location and intimate atmosphere, it is the spectacular approach roads that make a trip there truly memorable!
