From Poznań to Vista Felice

On our latest trip, we opted for toll-free roads.
Admittedly, this added about an hour and a half to the journey, but we’re in no rush when we’re on vacation :)
We definitely prefer smaller, local roads over boring highways.
Perhaps it’s our love for off-roading, or maybe it’s because we adore catching glimpses of authentic life in the towns we pass through.
Although Maciej usually plans every route with meticulous precision, this time… he overlooked something.
The route took us straight over the famous Stelvio Pass‼️
His surprise, his ear-to-ear grin, and his eyes going wide as golf balls when he saw the "Passo dello Stelvio" sign—priceless!!!
For automotive enthusiasts, this route is legendary, but if you aren't familiar with it, here are a few facts:
It is one of the most beautiful and spectacular roads in the world‼️
The elevation gain is a staggering 1,808 meters, with the highest point reaching 2,758 meters above sea level.
Due to this extreme altitude, the road is open only seasonally—usually from May to October.
Its famous switchbacks attract crowds of two-wheel enthusiasts—both cyclists and motorcyclists!
Cars make up just 20% of the total traffic! The route is incredibly demanding and winding, but the views from the summit make up for absolutely everything.
A tip for you: the Passo dello Stelvio is just a 2.5-hour drive from the Vista Felice apartment. The drive itself is incredibly scenic, making it the perfect idea for a fantastic day trip!
