Another magical spot on Lake Iseo
⛰️ Monte Isola ⛰️
Italy’s largest inland island, located in Lake Iseo.
You can reach this mountainous natural wonder while staying at Vista Felice, enjoying a unique boat trip adventure along the way ⛴️.
We recommend traveling to Lovere (a short drive or a ride on the "C" bus line) and then transferring to a water bus.
A cruise on Lake Iseo offers stunning views of the surrounding Alpine peaks and lakeside villages—an experience that is sure to stay with you.
Last year, we had the chance to visit this wonderful place during the "Festa di Santa Croce" (Festival of the Holy Cross), also known as the "Festa dei Fiori" (Festival of Flowers). This unique event takes place every five years, during which the island is adorned with hundreds of thousands of handmade paper and tissue-paper flowers.
The tradition dates back to 1836, when the locals vowed to honor the Holy Cross if they survived a cholera epidemic.
Although the next festival isn't until four years from now, Monte Isola is well worth a visit right now.
We recommend renting bicycles or exploring the island on foot, strolling through the charming streets of Carzano or Peschiera Maraglio.
⛪️ It is also worth venturing up to the "Santuario della Madonna della Ceriola" at the island's summit, where you can take in a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Iseo.
Unforgettable views and wonderful memories ⛪️
